Short salsa classes enhances your style in every movement, and increases your variety of dance moves in social dancing
When you dance salsa,… style and feeling connect with brief moves to the rhythm of the music
In the previous video, you can see how a small salsa choreography has been created (using short salsa classes) through brief moves from different dance couples.
This same concept is what SalsaDanceMoves applies to help salsa dancers improve in social dancing.
How does short salsa classes enhance salsero’s social dancing?
SalsaDanceMoves is based on the idea that salsa dancing is composed of a multitude of movements that share the following characteristics:
- The majority of these movements are performed within just eight beats.
- Each of these movements has an initial position and a final position.
- At times, the only difference in executing a movement lies in the style.
Short salsa classes shows you different salsa moves that you can incorporate into your social dancing.
In general, these movements are not excessively difficult to learn and remember, especially due to their brevity.
If you want to see how some of these movements are, press the button labeled «Movements of less 4 than seconds«.
So, in the case that it is a laptop, a screen like the following will appear:
In the case of a mobile, the screen you will see will be the following:
Both in the case of one screen and the other, if you press the «Salsa lesson» button you will see a new salsa movement of less than 4 seconds
As you can see, these movements of short salsa classes are extracted from dances performed by the best dancers at the social dance floor.
Therefore, it can be ensured that salsa movement is accompanied by impeccable style.
SalsaDanceMoves is always collecting fantastic dances, cutting them down into short moves to later classify them according to the initial and final position of the salseros in the movement.
All this collection of salsa moves becomes a video library of movements for salseros.
SalsaDanceMoves presents you with different options so you can choose which style and variations of a movement suit your taste and/or your ability the most.
There are some movements that are interpreted by different dancers with their respective styles and variations.
Consequently, you can choose which one aligns best with your preference and/or your capability.
Are you considering finding salsa moves to enhance your skills in specific situations at a salsa social?
If you prefer to participate in the choice of the movement, select the option «Movements based on initial and final position«.
After pressing the button you must continue with the following steps.
Firstly, choose the drawings representing the initial and final positions of the dancers for the movements you want to see.
In the case of a laptop, the drawings you choose appear on a screen in the following format.
And in the case of a mobile, the drawings are displayed like this
Subsequently, decide which salsa dancers you prefer and what the duration of the movement will be.
Below you can see the laptop screen. For mobile it is very similar.
The image shown next is the screen on the laptop. As you can see it is very similar to the screen of the Movements of less than 4 seconds. The same happens with the mobile screen.
So, you can already see the salsa movement.
In the drawing below you can see some more of the drawings that represent the initial and final positions of the dance couples.
Whether you’re the follower or the leader, these new movements will now become a part of your social dance repertoire.
However, there are surely some of these movements that you already perform regularly, with the only difference being in the style and/or a variation.
If you like them and they suit your abilities, try to learn them!
How wonderful it is to have more options to adapt your dance to the music and your dance partner!!!
Having different styles and various versions of the same movement will allow you to adapt your social dance to the music and your dance partner.
And if the salsa moves under 4 seconds seem too short to start practicing, you can give those lasting between 4 and 8 seconds a try.
Hit the «Movements between 4 and 8 seconds» button, and good luck!
On the other hand, if you want to create a figure or a choreography like the one in the initial video, all you have to do is press the «Create a figure» button.
Now you can start linking movements based on their initial and final positions. Naturally, SalsaDanceMoves takes care of this part.
Your part will involve choosing the dance partners, the movements, and the durations of the movements.
You’ll see how easy it is to create a salsa figure with SalsaDanceMoves.
But, if you prefer to see before a more extensive explanation of how to create a figure, press the button How to choreograph a dance?
